This blog describes an ongoing partnership between faculty in East Asian studies at the University of Kansas (KU) and a newly opened school for Tibetans in Qinghai China founded by a Tibetan charity.  Faculty from KU will assist the school in developing curriculum in the arts such as thangka painting as vocational training in order to help diversify the local economy. Five students from the school will also be studying at KU in 2010.  This site will document the visits of KU faculty to the school in 2009 and 2010 as well as the learning experience of the Tibetan students at KU.
