Champa Lhunpo
Born in Tibet, Venerable Champa LHUNPO, instructor of Tibetan language at the University of Kansas, completed a course of seventeen years of monastic study and received a degree in 1986 from Namgyal Monastery. This background makes Champa Lhunpo an expert not only in the fields of his degree (sutra and tantra studies), but also provides him with an intimate understanding of traditional educational systems in the Tibetan world. Additionally, Champa Lhunpo brings a deep knowledge of Tibet’s artistic traditions having participated in creating complex sand mandala on numerous occasions in the United States and Canada. He has also served as a translator several times in his work with Buddhist and educational institutions in the United States.
It was nice meeting you yesterday at Tibet in Song at the Spencer Art Museum of KU. Please let me know of the Tibetan Center in De Soto. I was unable to locate it.
Kind regards,
Susana (Susy)
